Dan Mazer

Dan’s music is an Americana mix, rooted in straight-ahead bluegrass andbranching out to include folk, country, blues, oldies, and other styles.  He started playing Scruggs-style banjo in 1974, and earned a B.A. in Music Theory in 1984. The banjo has taken Dan all over the U.S. and overseas, as a solo artist, as a member of bands, and in theatrical  productions  and orchestras, in venues ranging from street corner busking to bar/coffeehouse gigs, to children’s shows, private parties and corporate events, to music festivals, Opryland, USA, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Dan’s been a member of J.B. Beverley & The Wayward Drifters, The Jackstraws, D.J. & The C.B. Pickers, and Rockcreek. He’s shared the stage and/or sat in with The New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Del McCoury Band, The Yonder Mountain String Band, Vince Herman, Steve Key, and many other acts. Dan is only here in Omaha 1 night so don’t miss this performance!
